Scholar Career Coaching Terms of Use describes the information we collect about you on this site and how this information is used. We encourage you to review this Policy from time to time, as it may be amended or updated by us at any time.

By using the Site, you agree to the Terms of Use Policy. If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions of this Policy, please do not use the Site. We reserve the right to change this Policy without prior notice. This Policy will be updated periodically, when necessary. Any changes to our Policy will become effective upon our posting of the revised Policy on the Site. Use of the Site following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy then in effect.

As a user of this Scholar Career Coaching website, our web server automatically recognizes the Internet address (and specific domain) from which you are using. We explicitly request certain information about you during the registration process. This information is logged and stored in our web server. Information collected is done so solely for the use of helping customize your career development experience.

Our Site’s registration form requires you to give us an email address (in case you forget your password) and other personal information. Some general demographic and profile data may be collected at our Site. If you register to become a mentor or mentee, you will be asked to complete an online registration form that requests your name, username, email address, password, birth date, sex, zip code, undergraduate schools attended, college major, professional industry, years of professional experience area of mentorship expertise and/or areas of mentorship sought. The online registration form also allows you to submit other types of information, such as your reason for joining the Site and a photograph of you. For the purposes of this Policy, this information is referred to as your profile page.

Scholar Career Coaching creates a profile page for registered users based on data that you provide during the registration process. Please note that profile data will be accessible to registered Site users. This Site makes chat rooms, forums and message boards available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information. We provide functionality on the Site that allows users to register as prospective mentees or mentors, and helps to place prospective mentees and mentors in contact with each other via internal messages or searching the profiles of registered users. In this process, we may disclose information about a mentee to prospective mentors, and we reserve the right to disclose certain information about these prospective mentors to the mentee as stated in the Mentor Release Agreement,

Scholar Career Coaching acts only as an intermediary between employers posting job opportunities and mentees searching for job opportunities. Scholar Career Coaching is not involved in the actual transaction between employers and candidates. As a result, we have no control over the quality, safety or legality of the jobs or resumes posted, the truth or accuracy of the listings, the ability of employers to offer job opportunities to candidates or the ability of candidates to fill job openings.

In addition, because user authentication on the Internet is difficult, Scholar Career Coaching cannot and does not confirm that each user is who they claim to be. Because we do not and cannot control the behavior of participants on the Site, in the event that you have a dispute with one or more users, please use the contact form on the Site or email us directly at info@scholarcc.com.
Scholar Career Coaching Sites may use “cookies” to store information about users and allow access to pages within the Sites without their entry of user ID’s and passwords. Cookies may also track information about areas and/or pages of the Sites accessed by our users. Other than storage of such information, cookies from the Sites are not used for the purpose of accessing other information stored in your web browser and/or computer used to access Scholar Career Coaching Sites.

We may send you important information regarding the Site, changes to our terms and conditions and policies. Because this information may be important to your use of the Site, you may unsubscribe of receiving such communications. Prospective mentors and mentees may communicate through internal messages on the Site (“Internal Messages”). Internal Messages may be sent by prospective mentees to prospective mentors, and vice versa, and, if sent, will result in the sharing of certain personal information, including but not limited to any personal information contained in your profile name. We urge you to exercise discretion and caution when deciding to disclose personal information about you, or any other information, in internal messages. We are not responsible for the use by others of any personal information you disclose in internal messages.

You must be a U.S. resident to register or use the Site and the Mentor Service. By using the Site and the Mentor Service, you represent and warrant that you are a U.S. resident.

By signing the Mentor Agreement and Mentor Release Agreement provided by Scholar Career Coaching, you agree to follow the terms and policies highlighted on each Agreement as well as the terms and policies cited here.

Note Regarding Law Enforcement, Emergencies and Compliance: Notwithstanding any other provision of this Policy to the contrary, we reserve the right to disclose personal information collected through the registration process, Mentor Agreement, or Mentor Release Agreement, to others as we believe to be appropriate (a) under applicable law; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to governmental requests; (d) to enforce our Terms of Service; (e) to protect our operations; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, you or others; and (g) to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain. For example, we may, to the fullest extent the law allows, disclose information about you to law enforcement agencies to assist them in identifying individuals who have been or may be engaged in unlawful activities.
By requesting to use, registering to use, and/or using the Mentor Service, you represent and warrant that you have never been convicted of a felony and are not required to register as a sex offender with any government entity. WE DO NOT CURRENTLY CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS ON USERS OF THE SERVICES. However, we reserve the right to conduct a criminal background check, at any time and using available public records, to confirm your compliance with this section.

We seek to have security measures and tools, such as firewalls, in place to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, although we strive to protect information about you, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us through or in connection with the Site or that is stored by us. You acknowledge and agree that any information you transmit through the Site or upload for storage in connection with the Site is so transmitted or stored at your own risk.

This Site contains features to perform submissions that may include job submissions to contact employers, and submissions to contact candidates. By submitting the job, the submitter represents and warrants that he or she has legal authority to do so. Scholar Career Coaching is under no obligation to monitor the information received through its Site. Scholar Career Coaching reserves the right to use and to edit any and/or all information sent to or sent through www.scholarcc.com, www.scholarcareercoaching.com without further notice, permission, or compensation, for any reason whatsoever, at its sole discretion.

Prohibited Content:  Scholar Career Coaching prohibits submissions containing the following content:

  • information which is deemed to be offensive (or promotes activity which is offensive) to the society in general;
  • information which is deemed to be illegal (or promotes illegal activity);
  • information which is of a pornographic nature;
  • submissions which do not primarily consist of a job listing;
  • submissions which point visitors to another web site;
  • submissions that encourage fraud;
  • submissions that violate generally acceptable community standards;
  • submissions that require further payment (for example, jobs that require applicants to pay a fee);
  • submissions that pertain to, are a result of, or otherwise encourage multilevel marketing or affiliate marketing;
  • submissions that are made on behalf of someone else or another company;
  • pyramid schemes.

Scholar Career Coaching will not be responsible for any damages. The user acknowledges that Scholar Career Coaching will not be held under any obligation to respond to any inquiries. The use of this Site is entirely at the user’s own risk. As with all job interviews, users of this Site are strongly encouraged to verify references before meeting anyone in person. Scholar Career Coaching will not be held responsible and disclaims all liabilities for the use, abuse, or inability to use of this Site or of the information contained therein. Scholar Career Coaching is not responsible for the content of job postings. Any person using this Site is required to have sufficient technical knowledge to use this Site and to use a compatible browser.

Scholar Career Coaching reserves the right to log this Site and monitor or otherwise keep track of messages.
